There is a long gap between exits 40W and 39, the longest gap between two exits in Nassau. Even though several major roads, such as Post Road (CR 4), Wheatley Road, and Red Ground Road, cross the expressway and intersect the service roads in this area, there are no exits for any of them. This is the case because the people who lived in this area when the expressway was constructed did not want an exit in their neighborhood.
