When Franklin Avenue crosses Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24) in Franklin Square, it becomes New Hyde Park Road and takes on the CR 5B designation. New Hyde Park Road runs north through Franklin Square, Stewart Manor, New Hyde Park, and Lake Success. It ends at the Long Island Expressway (I-495).
