The Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway was planned as an expressway that would cross Long Island in eastern Nassau, cross over Long Island Sound on the Oyster Bay Bridge, continue on the other side as the Cross Westchester Expressway, and be designated I-287. Unfortunately, neither the Oyster Bay Bridge nor the section of the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway between Syosset and Oyster Bay was ever built. The Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway begins at Merrick Road (CR 27) in Seaford and ends at Jericho Turnpike (NY 25) in Syosset. It is a misnomer because it does not actually go to Oyster Bay.
