In Rockville Centre, there is a grade-separated interchange with Merrick Road (CR 27). Other than exits from expressways and parkways, this is the only grade-separated interchange involving a county route in Nassau.

Sunrise Highway goes through Merrick and Bellmore. There are traffic lights at Babylon Turnpike, Merrick Avenue (CR 4), Hewlett Avenue, Newbridge Road, Centre Avenue, Bedford Avenue, Bellmore Avenue (CR 26), Old Mill Road, and Lakeview Road.

There is an interchange with the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (NY 135). There is no exit to get on southbound because NY 135 ends just south of here at Merrick Road (CR 27).

Sunrise Highway continues east through Seaford and Massapequa. There are traffic lights at Seamans Neck Road, Jackson Avenue, Washington Avenue, Seaford Avenue, Hicksville Road (NY 107), Broadway, Lakeshore Boulevard, Park Boulevard, Carol Drive, Broadway, Cartwright Boulevard, Park Lane, and Unqua Road.
