Northbound Views
Basin Road begins at Washington Street (DE 9) and DE 273 in New Castle and runs north as a four-lane divided road with traffic lights.

There is a grade-separated interchange with US 13/US 40. It is marked as exits 1A-B for consistency with the expressway section up ahead. When travelling in this direction, only exit 1A is directly accessible. Motorists wishing to access exit 1B must make a U-turn at the first traffic light after the interchange.

Basin Road continues north. Commons Boulevard (DE 37) begins on the left along this stretch.

Basin Road becomes an expressway here. Exits 3A-B are for the Delaware Turnpike (I-95) and I-495.

Exits 6A-B are for Kirkwood Highway (DE 2). They are the last exits before the expressway ends.

As the expressway ends, Basin Road changes names to become Centre Road.

There is a traffic light at Faulkland Road (DE 34). Turn right to go east or left to go west.

Centre Road continues north as a four-lane divided road. There is a DuPont plant on the right.

There is a traffic light at Lancaster Pike (DE 48). Turn right to go east or left to go west. DE 100 is multiplexed with DE 48 to the right and with DE 141 straight ahead.

Centre Road ends at a traffic light at Barley Mill Road. Continue straight ahead onto Barley Mill Road to stay on DE 141.

Barley Mill Road ends at a traffic light on the other side of the bridge. Turn left onto Powder Mill Road to stay on DE 141.

DE 141 ends at a grade-separated interchange with Concord Pike (US 202). Bear left to go north or right to go south. Bear left just before the interchange for Foulk Road (DE 261), which begins here.
