Northbound Views
Clinton Road begins at Peninsula Boulevard (CR 2) in Hempstead. The section in Hempstead is locally known as Clinton Street. There is a traffic light at Front Street (NY 102/CR 106). Turn right to go east or left to go west.

There is an emergency signal, followed by a traffic light at Fulton Avenue (NY 24/CR 107). Turn right to go east or left to go west.

There is a railroad crossing. There are no gate arms or flashing lights because these tracks are hardly ever used.

Clinton Road intersects Old Country Road (CR 25) at a traffic light and ends. Continue straight ahead onto Glen Cove Road to stay on CR 1.

Glen Cove Road runs north through Carle Place. There are a lot of shopping centers along this stretch.

Glen Cove Road passes under the interchange of the Northern Parkway and the Meadowbrook Parkway. There are entrances to both parkways.

Glen Cove Road intersects Jericho Turnpike (NY 25) at a traffic light. Immediately to the west, there is an entrance to the Northern Parkway westbound.

At the next traffic light, Glen Cove Road intersects Hillside Avenue (NY 25B).

This stretch of Glen Cove Road runs right next to the Northern Parkway. A sign instructs drivers to turn left onto I.U. Willets Road for an entrance to the parkway westbound.

There is an interchange with the Long Island Expressway (I-495).

Glen Cove Road becomes a divided road at the intersection with Red Ground Road and Harbor Hill Road. The divider ends immediately after the intersection.

Glen Cove Road runs north to the North Hempstead-Oyster Bay town line. At the town line, CR 1 ends. Glen Cove Road becomes a divided highway and takes on the designation of NY 904, an unsigned state route.
