Old Country Road is a major east/west route in the eastern half of Nassau. In Garden City Park, southbound Herricks Road (CR 8) curves to the east and becomes eastbound Old Country Road. At this point, there is an "exit" for Rockaway Avenue. (This "exit" is an intersection with a traffic light at which there are ramps connecting southbound Herricks Road to southbound Rockaway Avenue and northbound Rockaway Avenue to eastbound Old Country Road.) Old Country Road runs east through Mineola. Between Glen Cove Road (CR 1) and Merrick Avenue (CR 4), it serves as the main road in a large commercial development that includes the Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall. It runs east through Hicksville and Plainview and ends at Round Swamp Road (CR 110) in Plainview near the Nassau-Suffolk county line.
