Welcome to West Virginia and to Hardy County! VA 55 becomes WV 55 at the state line and remains multiplexed with US 48. The state line is located at the summit of Great North Mountain. US 48 descends the west side of the mountain. Old Strasburg Road (CR 55/1) begins on the right along this stretch.

Welcome to Wardensville! WV 259 is multiplexed with US 48/WV 55 beginning here. The section in Wardensville is known as West Main Street and East Main Street. The speed limit drops to 25 MPH in town.

Corridor H begins here as the road widens to become a four-lane divided highway with a 65 MPH speed limit. There is an at-grade intersection at Squirrel Gap Road.

Eastern Drive (CR 55/22) and Freedom Way (CR 55/24) begin on the left. There is an exit for US 220 and WV 55, which splits off from US 48 here.

Corridor H is now just US 48. There are a few at-grade intersections along this stretch, including at Darlington School Road, Howard Sions Road, and Fish Pond Road (CR 220/8), as well as some cliffs.

Welcome to Grant County! The highway slopes down at a fairly steep grade. The scenery along this stretch is amazing.

On the other side of the bridge, turn left to go east on Power Station Highway (WV 93). Westbound WV 93 is multiplexed with US 48 straight ahead.

The eastern section of Corridor H ends here. US 48 ends here for now. As Corridor H is completed, it will be extended along the newly constructed highway and the existing western section that is currently designated US 33 to end at I-79 in Weston. WV 93 continues straight ahead as Synergy Highway.
