The Grand Central Parkway begins at I-278 in Queens just past the RFK Bridge. Exit 5 is for Astoria Boulevard and 82 Street.

Exit 12 is for 78 Avenue and Queens Boulevard (NY 25). Exit 13S is for the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) south. Exit 13W is for the Jackie Robinson Parkway, which was formerly known as the Interboro Parkway. The latter two exits share a ramp.

The Grand Central Parkway ends ahead at the Queens-Nassau county line and becomes the Northern Parkway. A sign gives the first exit on the Northern Parkway, exit 25, which is for Lakeville Road (Nassau CR 11).
