New Hyde Park Road begins at Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24). The road immediately splits. Bear right for Court House Road. Use the left lane to stay on New Hyde Park Road. Signage is completely lacking at this intersection, so it's easy to get lost here.

New Hyde Park Road passes under the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. There was originally a grade crossing here, but it was replaced with an overpass in a 2019-2020 construction project as part of adding a third track to the Main Line.

New Hyde Park Road widens to four lanes again. There is a pair of traffic lights at Union Turnpike (NY 25C) and Marcus Avenue, which merge just east of here.
