In Albany, the Thruway curves to the south. Exit 24 is for the Northway (I-87) north and I-90 east. At this rather confusing interchange, it is necessary to exit in order to stay on I-90. The Thruway continues straight ahead, taking on the designation of I-87 south about a mile past this point. There is a cashless tolling gantry right before the exit.
