Exit 14 is for East 96 Street. The ramp for this exit was recently moved a short distance to the north. Temporary orange signs mark the new location of the exit.

The FDR Drive descends into a tunnel called the Battery Park Underpass. On the other side, it merges into West Street (NY 9A) and there is an exit for the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (I-478), which was formerly known as the Battery Tunnel.
