The Long Island Expressway (I-495) begins at Old Country Road (CR 58) in Riverhead. Exits 73-71 do not exist when travelling in this direction. There is a relatively long stretch between the eastern terminus and the first westbound exit.

Exit 55 is for the Motor Parkway (CR 67). The Long Island Motor Parkway was the first road to use entrance and exit ramps and overpasses, but now it is just a local street.
