Nicolls Road passes through Stony Brook University. There are three entrances, the South Entrance, the Main Entrance, and the North Entrance. All three are traffic light intersections.

Nicolls Road passes under the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road and then ends at a traffic light at North Country Road (NY 25A). Turn right to go east or left to go west.
