Front Street
Eastbound Views
Front Street begins at Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24) in West Hempstead, just west of the Hempstead village line. The first section is locally maintained by the Nassau County Department of Public Works (NCDPW) and is designated CR 106. The NY 102 designation is unsigned along this section. Immediately, there is a traffic light at Hempstead Avenue.

Front Street curves to the east and runs through Hempstead as a four-lane undivided road. There are traffic lights at Franklin Avenue (CR 5A), Greenwich Street (CR 7B), Washington Avenue (CR 7A), Clinton Road (CR 1), and Peninsula Boulevard (CR 2).

Front Street narrows down to two lanes as the CR 106 section ends. It comes under state maintenance, and NY 102 signage begins.

Front Street passes under the Meadowbrook Parkway, but there is no interchange.

There is a traffic light at Merrick Avenue (CR 4). Turn left to go north or right to go south.

Front Street continues east through East Meadow, curving to the northeast. There are traffic lights at Wickshire Drive, Green Avenue, and East Meadow Avenue.

Front Street ends at a traffic light at Hempstead Turnpike (NY 24). All vehicles must turn right to go east.
