I-287 begins as the Cross Westchester Expressway at the New England Thruway (I-95), just south of the Connecticut border. Exit 12 is for the New England Thruway (I-95) south. The exit number is not posted when travelling in this direction.

The Cross Westchester Expressway ends here at the New York Thruway (I-87). Take the exit on the right to go south. Continue straight ahead to go north and to stay on I-287.
