Main Street, Western Highway
Northbound Views
Welcome to New York and to Rockland County! There is no signage for the state line here, only the county line. Tappan Road (Bergen CR 39) becomes Main Street upon entering the state line. It runs north as a two-lane undivided road. There is a sign that erroneously marks it as an east/west route here.

Oak Tree Road merges from the right. Bear left to stay on Main Street.

Main Street ends at a traffic light at CR 8. Turn right onto Washington Street to go east. Turn left onto Old Tappan Road to go west and to stay on CR 15. Signage for CR 15 is lacking at this intersection. Kings Highway, which is marked as a truck route to NY 303, begins straight ahead.

CR 15 follows Old Tappan Road (CR 8) for a short distance to the west.
CR 15 splits off from Old Tappan Road (CR 8) and runs north as a two-lane undivided road. Beginning here, it is called Western Highway.

There is a traffic light at Orangeburg Road (CR 20). Turn right to go east or left to go west. There is signage erroneously marking the road straight ahead as a junction with CR 15, rather than staying on the same route.

There is a bridge over the Hackensack River. The road is currently closed here due to construction work to replace the bridge.
