North of the split for the Sprain Parkway, the Bronx Parkway is maintained by the county, not the state as most parkways are (including the section of the Bronx Parkway south of this point). The lanes become more narrow, the speed limit goes down to 40 MPH, and the exit numbers start over. Exit 1 is for Paxton Avenue.
