The Cross County Parkway is an east/west route in southern Westchester. It begins at the Saw Mill Parkway in Yonkers and runs east to the Hutchinson Parkway in New Rochelle. It is not well known and is almost never backed up. For those travelling to or from the north, it provides a good alternative to the congested Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95). Although the name might lead one to believe otherwise, the Cross County Parkway is maintained by the state, not the county.
