The New Jersey Turnpike begins at I-295 just north of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. There is an unnumbered exit for US 40.

The turnpike divides into two sets of parallel lanes in each direction. Cars may use either set of lanes. Trucks and buses must use the outer lanes.

Exit 6 is for I-95 south, a turnpike extension that provides access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) and US 130.

I-95 merges with the turnpike mainline here. NJ 700 ends, and the turnpike continues straight ahead as I-95 north.
