Howells Road meets the service roads of Sunrise Highway (NY 27) at a pair of traffic lights. It merges into the eastbound service road and the second light and then promptly splits off.

There is a railroad crossing at the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. Immediately thereafter, CR 57 ends at a traffic light at Union Boulevard (CR 50). Turn left to go east or right to go west. Third Avenue continues straight ahead as a local street for a few blocks to end at Montauk Highway (NY 27A).
