US 9 runs south through Woodbridge as a six-lane divided highway.

There is an exit for NJ 184, CR 501, the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), and the Garden State Parkway (NJ 444) north.

Skipping about a mile to the south, there is an exit for the Middlesex Freeway (NJ 440) south, which changes designation to become I-287 north just past here. The exit also provides access to Industrial Avenue.

The Edison Bridge carries US 9 across the Raritan River to Sayreville. The Driscoll Bridge, which carries the Garden State Parkway (NJ 444), is visible to the right.

On the other side of the bridge, there is an exit for the Garden State Parkway (NJ 444) south. This is not a direct connection but instead passes through the streets of South Amboy. Straight ahead, NJ 35 is multiplexed with US 9.
