The Sherwood Island Connector (SSR 476) begins on the left at a traffic light. Turn here for Sherwood Island State Park and the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) at exit 18.

There is a traffic light at CT 136. Turn right onto Compo Road North to go north or left onto Compo Road South to go south. Continue straight ahead on Post Road East to stay on US 1.

There is a bridge over the Saugatuck River. On the other side, Post Road East ends at a traffic light at CT 33. Turn right onto Wilton Road to go north or left onto Riverside Avenue to go south. Continue straight ahead onto Post Road West to stay on US 1.

Westport Avenue ends at a traffic light at East Avenue. Turn right to go north CT 53, which begins here. The section of East Avenue south of here is a local street, but it provides access to the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) at exit 16. Continue straight ahead onto North Avenue to stay on US 1.
