Old Sunrise Highway becomes Oak Street upon crossing County Line Road (CR 1). It runs east through Amityville as a two-lane undivided road.

There is a traffic light at Broadway (NY 110). Turn left to go north or right to go south. Route signage is completely lacking at this intersection.

Welcome to Lindenhurst! Oak Street changes names to become Hoffman Avenue and continues next to the tracks. In Babylon, it changes names again to become Railroad Avenue.

Railroad Avenue ends at a traffic light at Great East Neck Road (CR 96). Turn left to go north or right to go south. CR 12 ends here. Trolley Line Road is straight ahead.
