County Line Road is a north/south route running along the Nassau-Suffolk county line from Merrick Road (NY 27A) in Amityville to Main Street (CR 47) in Farmingdale. While the entire length was proposed to be CR 1, only the portion in Amityville between NY 27A and just north of Joyce Avenue was actually taken over by the county and assigned the CR 1 designation. When the Southern Parkway was built, not overpass was constructed for County Line Road. This cut the road into two separate sections. The section north of the parkway is a dead-end street that only extends for a few blocks.
