Johnson Avenue becomes a county route at Sunrise Highway (NY 27) and runs north as a four-lane undivided road.

Johnson Avenue ends at a traffic light at Veterans Highway (NY 454). Turn right to go east or left to go west. The entrance to Long Island MacArthur Airport is straight ahead.
