Maple Avenue begins at Main Street (NY 52) in Pine Bush and runs south as a two-lane undivided road.

Skipping a few miles to the south, there is a traffic light at NY 17K. Turn left to go east or right to go west.

Skipping a few miles once again, there is an interchange with the Quickway (NY 17/Future I-86). The I-86 designation is signed prematurely here, even though this section is not yet an interstate.
