Borden Avenue begins at Center Boulevard by the East River in Long Island City. After one block, there is a ventilation structure for the Midtown Tunnel (I-495). The lanes split to go around the structure and then come together on the other side.

Vernon Boulevard begins on the left at a traffic light with an oversized street name sign. Turn left here for access to the Midtown Tunnel (I-495) and NY 25A.
