Vernon Boulevard is the westernmost north/south route in Queens. It begins at Borden Avenue on top of the entrance to the Midtown Tunnel (I-495) in Long Island City and runs north, passing under the Queensboro Bridge (NY 25), to Astoria, where it becomes Main Avenue at its intersection with 8 Street. The entire length is a two-lane undivided road, except for the first couple of blocks, which are divided.
