Welcome to the City of Lambertville! At the city line, NJ 29 widens to become a four-lane divided highway.

Turn left here for Mount Hope Street. NJ 29 as signed splits off to the left onto Main Street, but Main Street is one-way southbound at this point, so northbound traffic is forced onto NJ 165 straight ahead. The signage here directs northbound traffic to follow NJ 165 for its entire length of about a quarter of a mile and then turn west onto Bridge Street (NJ 179) for one block to rejoin NJ 29 along Main Street.
