The turnpike splits into two separate roadways, known as the eastern spur and the western spur, which merge back together a few miles north of here. The signage here does not explain what is happening but simply instructs motorists which way to go for the upcoming exits. For the eastern spur, bear right from the truck lanes or left from the car lanes. From the western spur, bear left from the truck lanes or right from the car lanes.
