Main Street runs east through Boonton as a two-lane undivided road. This section is downhill on a fairly steep incline.

There is a traffic light at Division Street and Morris Avenue, followed by an overpass over the New Jersey Transit railroad tracks.

On the other side of the tracks, there is a traffic light. Straight ahead, CR 511 is multiplexed with US 202 as Washington Street. Turn left onto Myrtle Avenue to go north on US 202. There is an entrance to I-287 to the right.

Skipping south to Morristown, CR 650 begins on the right at a traffic light. There is an entrance to NJ 24 east to the left.

At its southern terminus, CR 511 becomes a divided road again. There is a traffic light at Lindsley Drive. Then, CR 511 merges with CR 510. Continue straight ahead to go west. Turn left onto Columbia Turnpike to go east.
