Christina Parkway ends at traffic light at South College Avenue. DE 896 splits off to the right here. Continue straight ahead onto East Chestnut Hill Road to stay on DE 4.

Skipping a few miles, Ogletown Stanton Road runs east as a four-lane divided highway. There are traffic lights at Old Churchmans Road and Centurian Drive.

Ogletown Stanton Road ends at a traffic light at Stanton Christiana Road (DE 7). Turn left to go north and to stay on DE 4. Turn right to go south.

After the split, DE 4 follows a pair of parallel one-way streets. Eastbound traffic follows Mitch Road, while westbound traffic follows Main Street.

The eastbound bound and westbound lanes comes back together to form a four-lane road called Newport Pike.

Welcome to Newport! The lanes split once again here. Eastbound traffic follows Market Street, while westbound traffic follows Justis Street. There is an interchange with Basin Road (DE 141).

The lanes come back together, and DE 4 is known as Newport Pike once again. There are traffic lights at Larch Avenue, Latimer Street, Forest Drive, Becker Avenue, Troy Avenue, and Fallon Avenue.

Newport Pike continues east toward Wilmington, changing names to become Maryland Avenue. There are traffic lights at Grier Avenue, Champlain Avenue, West Summit Avenue, Lorewood Avenue, Winston Avenue, South Dupont Road, Race Street, Alban Drive, McGovern Terrace, and Latimer Drive.

Maryland Avenue ends at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (DE 48). The signage here is a bit misleading because it makes it looks like the two routes are multiplexed, although DE 4 actually end here. North Madison Street is straight ahead.
