The Westerly Bypass is a short expressway that bypasses the downtown area of Westerly, Rhode Island. It begins at Liberty Street (CT 2) in Pawcatuck, Connecticut. At first, it is designated CT 78, but it immediately crosses a small bridge over the Pawcatuck River to Rhode Island and becomes RI 78. It runs east for a couple of miles and then curves to the south to end at US 1, east of the downtown area. The Westerly Bypass has only one lane in each direction despite being an expressway.
