RI 77 is a north/south route running along the east side of the Sakonnet River. It begins at the Sakonnet Point Marina in Little Compton and runs north near the river to the Fall River Expressway (RI 24) in Tiverton. The road straight ahead at the northern terminus in RI 138, which splits off from being multiplexed with RI 24 at this point. The entire length of RI 77 is a two-lane undivided road. For most of its length, it is known as Main Road and West Main Road, although it changes names near the southern terminus to become Sakonnet Point Road and the Bluff Head Avenue.
