Main Street runs east through Yaphank as a two-lane undivided road.

There is a stop sign at Yaphank Avenue. Turn right here to stay on CR 21. East Main Street, a local road that was proposed to become CR 102 but was never actually taken over by the county, is straight ahead.

Skipping south to Brookhaven, Yaphank Avenue begins again just north of the ramp from exit 57S of Sunrise Highway (NY 27). After a short distance, it ends at a traffic light at Montauk Highway (CR 80). Turn left to go east or right to go west.
