New Paltz-Minnewaska Road begins at Main Street (US 44/NY 55) and runs east as a two-lane undivided road.

There is a traffic light at NY 32. Turn left onto North Chestnut Street to go north. Continue straight ahead on Main Street to go south and to continue east on NY 299. South Chestnut Street (NY 208) begins on the right.
