Welcome to Queens! Rockaway Turnpike (Nassau CR 257) becomes Rockaway Boulevard upon crossing the city line. Rockaway Boulevard runs northwest as a six-lane divided road. Kennedy Airport is on the left. There are traffic lights with oversized street name signs at Brookville Boulevard and Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.

There is a traffic light with an oversized street name at Farmers Boulevard, which begins on the right. Immediately thereafter, the roadway splits. Bear left for the Nassau Expressway (NY 878) west toward Kennedy Airport, the Belt Parkway west, and the Van Wyck Expressway (I-678). Bear right to stay on Rockaway Boulevard toward the Belt Parkway east. There are no NY 878 route shields here, and only one sign mentions the Nassau Expressway by name.
