Rockaway Turnpike is an extension of Rockaway Boulevard into Nassau. It begins at the Queens-Nassau county line and runs south through the Five Towns area in southwestern Nassau. It ends in Lawrence at Broadway, where it becomes Meadow Lane, an unnumbered county route that changes names again to become Rock Hall Road, which ends at the Nassau Expressway (NY 878) slightly north of the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Many years ago, Rockaway Turnpike, along with Meadow Lane, Rock Hall Road, and Rockaway Boulevard, used to carry the designation of NY 104 from the Belt Parkway to the Atlantic Beach Bridge.
