Dixwell Avenue is a major north/south street in New Haven and Hamden. It is designated CT 10 for a few miles in Hamden before curving to the east and then turning north onto Whitney Avenue. Dixwell Avenue continues to the east for a little over a mile as SR 717 to State Street (US 5) in North Haven, where it ends.
