The West Virginia Turnpike is the main toll highway in West Virginia. I-77 enters the state from Virginia via the East River Mountain Tunnel, which passes through East River Mountain as its name suggests. The turnpike runs north through the western half of the state. It is multiplexed with I-64 between Beckley and Charleston. Just north of Parkersburg, it crosses the Ohio River into Ohio.
