US 522 is a major north/south route extending from Powhatan, Virginia, to Monroe Township, Pennsylvania. It begins at Anderson Highway (US 60) and runs north, eventually reaching Winchester. It is multiplexed with US 11, US 17, and US 50 through Winchester and then follows North Frederick Pike northwest to the northwest corner of the state, where it crosses into West Virginia.
