PA 940 is an east/west route in the northeastern area of Pennsylvania, extending from Hazleton to Cresco. It runs just south of I-80 from Hazleton to White Haven, crosses I-80 in White Haven, and then runs north of it from White Haven to Cresco. In most areas, it is a two-lane undivided road, although it is wider in the vicinity of Mount Pocono.
