I-70 is an east/west interstate highway running most of the way across the country from Utah to Maryland. It enters Pennsylvania from the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia, near Wheeling. It runs east through the suburbs south of Pittsburgh, including Washington, Pennsylvania. Eventually, it reaches the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) in New Stanton. I-70 is multiplexed with I-76 along the turnpike for a substantial distance. In Breezewood, they split at an infamous interchange where the highway ends at US 30 right after the split. Motorists wishing to follow I-70 must take US 30 through a couple of traffic lights to where the highway begins again. The final section of I-70 in Pennsylvania runs south to the state line. After crossing into Maryland, I-70 turns east again toward Baltimore.
