Columbus Avenue is a north/south route extending from Valhalla to Thornwood. It begins at the point where CR 29 turns from Broadway onto Legion Drive and runs north to a traffic light at Nanny Hagen Road, where it changes both name and number to become Kensico Road (CR 1308). For most of its length, Columbus Avenue is a four-lane divided road with a grass median, although the southern section has two lanes and no median.
