East Main Street is the old road bypassed by the US 6 divided highway in Shrub Oak. It is divided into two discontinuous segments by the Taconic Parkway. The western segment begins as US 6 and ends at Old Yorktown Road (NY 132), just west of the parkway. On the other side of the parkway, the eastern segment begins at US 6. It extends east to NY 6N, where the CR 1309 designation ends. NY 6N then follows East Main Street for a short distance to where it ends at US 6.
