NY 69 is an east/west route that runs diagonally from Mexico to Yorkville, just west of Utica. It begins at NY 104 in Mexico and runs east to Rome. There it is multiplexed with NY 46/NY 49 east along Erie Boulevard West and then with NY 26/NY 49 south along Erie Boulevard East to the beginning of the Utica-Rome Expressway (NY 49). NY 69 follows the expressway for one exit and then splits off to run parallel to it along Rome-Oriskany Road, Erie Boulevard, and Oriskany Boulevard. In Yorkville, Oriskany Boulevard merges with Commercial Drive (NY 5A) at a grade-separated interchange, and it changes designation to become NY 5A.
