NY 22 begins in the Bronx as Conner Street crosses Boston Road (US 1) and changes names to become Provost Avenue.

There is a traffic light at East 233 Street just south of the city line. Maintaining this road is clearly not a priority for NYCDOT, so an oversized street name sign would be too much to ask for, even though this is a state route.
