Grand Central Parkway
Eastbound Views (Archived)
These signs, which were found at the beginning of the Grand Central Parkway, have been replaced. At the time, the section of I-278 between the RFK Bridge, which was then known as the Triboro Bridge, and the beginning of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway was considered to be part of the Grand Central Parkway and assigned exit numbers accordingly. Motorists wishing to follow I-278 westbound had to take exit 4 from the Grand Central Parkway.

These pictures show the Grand Central Parkway eastbound at exits 12-16 as it appeared before work began to reconstruct the Kew Gardens Interchange. What is now exit 13 was then exit 13S. There was also an exit 13W for the Jackie Robinson Parkway, which is now accessed through exit 14.
