CR 106 is an east/west route in Rockland and Orange counties, having the same county route number in both counties. The section in Orange County is known as Kanawauke Road for its entire length. NY 17A turns into CR 106 at its southern terminus at Orange Turnpike (NY 17). After crossing the New York Thruway (I-87) with no interchange, it winds its way through Harriman State Park. It eventually reaches the Kanawauke Circle, where it meets the Seven Lakes Drive. Just east of the circle, Kanawauke Road crosses into Rockland County.
Before 1972, CR 106 was a state route and was designated NY 210. This designation has been decommissioned, and all state route shields have been removed.
